Lyme disease – infectious disease, wide spread and carried by ticks

 

Lyme disease is an infectious disease. It is transmitted by bacteria infected ticks. These bacteria belong to the group of spirochaetes (corkscrew). Despite modern antibiotics, sometimes a chronic infection develops, Lyme disease / Lyme disease, which can cause significant suffering. Integrative concepts that combine complementary medicine and experience and naturopathy in a systemic approach, could promote relief or healing.

 

  • Lyme disease ist the most common tick-carried disease
  • 70% of all first illnesses occur between June and September
  • Lyme disease is divided into three stages (local infection, spread of the pathogen, late stage)
  • Chronic neuroborreliosis occurs regularly despite proper treatment and represents a huge limitation on the quality of life

 

Individual systemic-holistic therapies for the treatment of Lyme disease – the patient and his suffering are the focus of therapy. In combination with a multimodal therapy (therapy combination) the symptoms and the triggers might be treated)

 

Symptoms

Acute symptoms: circular, ever-increasing redness at the point of entry, the so-called wandering redness (erythema); in about 75% of the cases, besides flu-like symptoms, later symptoms appear:

 

nerve inflammation numbness paralysis
fatigue syndroms fevers back pain
arthritis headaches sickness
arrhythmia chronic pain daze
tinnitus sudden hearing loss dizziness

 

Reisinger et al. investigated the influence of heat on Borrelios strains with and without antibiotics in an in vitro study. Result:

1. Heat intensifies effect of antibiotics

2. At temperatures above 42.00 ° C even the most resistant strains died

Pathogens and their behaviour

There are various pathogens of Lyme disease, Borrelia burgdorferi, B. garinii, B.afzelli and B. spielmanii. The pathogen retracts into the tissue after infection, organ, joint, tissue and nervous system will fall.

 

  • The rate of infectious ticks by average is about 20 %, in southern Germany up to 50 %, in some regions even higher
  • The infections in Europe are caused by Ixodes ricinus (castor bean tick)
  • After a survived infection there is no immunity against the pathogen
  • The pathogens are temperature sensitive
  • The Savior can cause various chronic conditions
  • Borrelia can retreat into hard-to-reach tissues in antibiotics

 

In the chronic phase, the neurological complaints dominate. The reason for this are the neurotoxins. Their attachment to the tissues, elimination of bile and unfortunately frequent reabsorption in the intestine could explain the long duration of the symptoms.

 

Diagnosis

The migrans (erythema) is an indication, but occurs only in 50 % of cases. Concomitant disease symptoms are nonspecific but should be considered in the context of a history. (e.g., flu-like symptoms, but also myalgia [muscle pain] and arthralgia [joint pain]). The diagnosis is therefore based on the overall situation. Tests and symptom mappings exclude other possibilities. Laboratory studies are useful and helpful in looking at the course of the disease.

 

The diagnosis is made in combination:

 

  • Based on the symptoms
  • By excluding other diseases that are to be considered
  • With laboratory diagnostics: skin and blood samples in conjunction with polimerase chain reactions, ELISA test, Western blot, Elispot test, IgG and IgM antibody borreliosis, LTT Borrelia

 

Borrelia are thermosensitive. The Nobel laureate Julius Wagner von Jauregg successfully treated late symptoms of syphilis using fever. syphilis is also triggered by bacteria of the genus spirochetes.

 

Treatment

Classical medicine is limited to monotherapy or combined use with antibiotics. If they are used early and consistently, they can also prevent infection. In the chronic phase, the borrelia are located in regions accessible to antibiotics. Hyperthermia (overheating) has two advantages: The heat penetrates the tissue and might kill the bacteria, but definitely enhance the effect of the antibiotic therapy. Thanks to hyperthermia, the blood-brain barrier can be better overcome. Not to be underestimated is also the immunological effect of hyperthermia, which also simultaneously treats many symptoms as a side effect. Various substitution and supportive therapies from the natural and expert healing support every treatment approach, so that the symptoms of Lyme disease can be alleviated, in the best case even a chronic Lyme disease could be cured. In addition to a first detoxification over the heat treatment, further efforts should accompany the therapy.
